The Key Setting

The X‑T5's face/eye detection has improved significantly with firmware updates, but in crowded scenes it can occasionally jump between faces. Set "AF Mode" to "Zone" and place the zone over your primary subject area. The camera will prioritize faces within that zone, reducing the chance of it locking onto a background person. This is faster than switching to Single Point and more reliable than Wide/Tracking in event chaos.

Fujinon XF 16‑55mm f/2.8 R LM WR
The professional standard zoom for the X‑T5. Weather‑sealed, sharp across the range, and covers essential event focal lengths (24‑84mm equivalent).
Fujinon XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR
A superb fast prime for a natural, unposed event look. The X‑T5's compact size with this lens makes you less intimidating to guests — blend in and capture real moments.

"The X‑T5 is small. Use that. You're not the photographer with the intimidating rig. You're the person who happens to be capturing real moments. Blend in. The camera disappears. The images remain."
